September All School Meeting

This past Tuesday, we held our first All School Meeting for the 2011-2012 school year. We had so many things to celebrate. We've had several buses earn 10 panther paw to we acknowledged them, we sang Happy Birthday to all those born in September, and we recognized our Panther Paw and Panther Pride recipients.

 Panther Pride recognition lunch - one boy, one girl, and one staff member had lunch with Mrs. Wang on Tuesday. Thanks for the delicious lunch, Horace Mann Insurance!
We also celebrated a 4% increase in our MCA reading scores - yahoo!

Third Grade Showcase

This afternoon families of our third graders were invited to join their student during art, physical education, and music classes. Students and their families made clay pots, sang songs, and went bowling together.

On A Roll

We recognized our students who were named to the A or B Honor Roll last week during our On A Roll ceremony. Families were invited to join us for milk and cookies as students were called to the front to accept their certificate.

Sixth Grade Science Fair

Our sixth graders have worked very hard over the past 6 or so weeks to create science fair projects. Today they proudly displayed their boards and experiments to be judged by engineers from 3M in Hutchinson.


Nutty About Reading

Last week during conferences, our Parent Staff Advisory Council sponsored a 'Nutty About Reading' event. Students and their families could gather in our media center and participate in a variety of reading related activities: making bookmarks, listening to stories on CD, listening to stories online, and gathering information related to reading development. Winterfest

As part of our focus on school-wide Responsive Classroom impelementation, we held a celebration near the end of the second trimester to celebrate students who had made positive behavioral choices during the months of December and January. Students spent part of their day playing tug 'o war in the snow, snowshoeing, participating in sled races and other outdoor activities. The other part of the day was spent enjoying a delicious winter snack while watching a movie. Here are some pictures from our fun day!
